Net Green News Interviews Dr. Sheri Speede

Thanks to Laughing Planet Cafe, supporters enjoyed an evening of education and entertainment last December 16th, in Portland, Oregon.  The event was a huge success, with standing room only as Dr. Sheri Speede described her work over the past decade to save the lives of orphaned chimpanzees in the forests of Cameroon.

Net Green News was in attendance to interview Dr. Speede in hopes of furthering to educate the world about the inhumane and illegal practices of the ape meat trade. Although the video footage is not from Sanaga-Yong Center, many of our chimps are featured in photogaphs - the piece is well worth watching!

Massamba

In 2004 and at only two years of age, Massamba was rescued from a hunter.  He came to Sanaga-Yong Rescue Center orphaned and alone.  Today, Massamba enjoys his new family and loves to play with the juveniles in his group.  Recently Massamba broke his arm and while waiting to heal with a cast, he frequently expressed his eagerness to return to his group of friends.  After seven weeks apart from the group, everyone was happy to see him and the group's gentle leader Kiki, reassured him of his acceptance by inviting him in with a huge hug.  Sponsor Massamba today!
