Nearing the holidays

Dear Friend
 Manni |
Kadei | In the forthcoming IDA-Africa Bush Telegraph Dr. Speede will share the story of her long journey to rescue Simossa, a sweet chimpanzee who in one moment lost her mother and her freedom to poachers. Her dignity, though it has suffered tremendously, will now have a chance to heal. At Sanaga-Yong Center she will be embraced by other chimpanzee orphans and human caregivers. She will feel the love of a chimpanzee family for the first time since that fateful day her mother was stolen away. With time her wounds will begin to heal and though she will struggle, she will have a chance to become her true self, a beautiful chimpanzee.
This story is not unlike the story of many of the chimpanzees at Sanaga-Yong Center. IDA-Africa is able to make this happen because of contributions by people around the world, and it is a fact that every single contribution makes a difference.
To rescue and then provide life-long care for each chimanzee for the rest of their life costs a lot of money. IDA-Africa supporters have made it possible for Dr. Speede and her staff and volunteers to rescue and provide sanctuary for 61 chimpanzees. They live in family groups within lush, forested enclosures and enjoy relative freedom.
Everyone who cares about chimpanzees agrees each invidual deserves to live the remainder of her or his life in peace. And some at Sanaga-Yong Center will someday return to the forest, to the life they were meant to live.
This holiday season please make a donation or a purchase to support the life-saving work of IDA-Africa and the amazing chimpanzees at Sanaga-Yong Center.
To date, you, our devoted supporters have made it possible to drastically change the lives of 61 chimpanzees and there is so much more work to be done.
On behalf of the chimpanzees we thank you!
Make A Donation -- As our US staff salaries are generously paid by IDA, your donation will go directly toward our work on behalf of the chimpanzees in Cameroon.
For a meaningful gift that truly makes a difference, sponsor a chimpanzee!. The gift recipient will receive a beautiful photograph, biography, a certificate of sponsorship and updates will be sent to you and the gift recipient. This is an incredible opportunity to bring a special touch to the holidays and to contribute to the future of a very special chimpanzee.
We have new gift giving ideas to check out, including IDA-Africa sweat shirts, ladies fitted t-shirts, childrens t-shirts, new chimpanzee greeting cards with color photographs, chimpanzee art posters, a high quality digital pigment print made by a local artist, and the IDA-Africa 2008 calendar.
