Wishing Peace for All Primates
Dec 19, 2006

Dear Friends,

It's easy to become reflective this time of year.  With gift-giving and gratitude going around, we find ourselves easily engaged in re-visiting our victories, reviewing our good fortunes and re-kindling our determination. It is easy to become inspired by 58 amazing individuals who have endured more than any one person ever should have to and whom we have had the honor of getting to know.  Each of the chimpanzees came to Sanaga-Yong Center as a damaged and hurting soul.  Through love and companionship their wounds have diminished, and healing continues.

We are grateful for the support we receive from caring individuals, foundations and organizations.   And we are grateful the chimpanzees at Sanaga-Yong Center are safe, living in family groups in peace.  Yet, we remember that these individuals are still captive and their free-living cousins are struggling...their forest home is being destroyed, and where it still exists, hunters and loggers are invading.  Apes are on the brink, too close to the edge...and they are being pushed by the minute.

So, we are embracing all that we have to be thankful for and looking forward toward the work to be done... the fight is still on.

We are so very thankful you care, that you take action, and that you are along with us working on behalf of the magnificent great apes of Cameroon.

Warm wishes for peaceful and safe holidays,

PS.  Please remember there is still time this year to give a tax deductible gift to the chimpanzees through a direct donation, chimpanzee sponsorship or a purchase.  Thank you.
